Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services, the domain acquisition process, and secure transfers.

General & Outreach

Why did Garqo contact me?

You may have received an email because Garqo owns, represents, or is assisting with a domain name that matches your business name, trademark, or industry.

How do I verify an outreach email?

Official Garqo emails always use the @garqo.com domain. You can reply directly to the email you received, or contact us through our website to verify the sender.

Does Garqo own every domain it promotes?

No. While we own a proprietary portfolio of premium domains, we also represent third-party sellers, and we act as a buyer broker to acquire domains currently owned by others.

Payment & Pricing

How is payment handled?

Payment is completed through trusted third-party registrars, established marketplaces, or licensed escrow providers, ensuring both buyer and seller are fully protected.

Can I negotiate the price?

In many cases, yes. If a domain is listed with a "Make Offer" option, we welcome reasonable offers. If we are acquiring a domain for you, we will negotiate on your behalf to secure the best possible price.

Are taxes included in the price?

Depending on your jurisdiction and the transaction method used (e.g., via a marketplace), VAT or other local taxes may be applied at checkout. This will be clearly stated before you finalize the purchase.

Do you offer installment plans?

Installment plans or lease-to-own options may be available for select domains depending on the seller's preferences and the transaction platform used. Please ask your broker for details.

Domain Transfers

How is a domain transferred?

Once payment is secured in escrow, we guide you through the transfer process. This typically involves providing you with an authorization code (EPP code) to transfer the domain to the registrar of your choice, or pushing the domain directly into your account if you use the same registrar as the seller.

What is an authorization (EPP) code?

An authorization code, also known as an EPP code or transfer secret, is a unique password assigned by the registrar. You provide this code to your new registrar to initiate the transfer process.

How long does a transfer take?

If both parties use the same registrar (an "account push"), the transfer is usually instantaneous. If the domain is being transferred between different registrars, the process typically takes between 1 to 7 days, depending on the losing registrar's policies.

What are transfer locks?

ICANN rules mandate a 60-day transfer lock when a domain is first registered, or when its registrant contact information is significantly updated. If a domain is under a 60-day lock, it can usually still be "pushed" to another account at the *same* registrar immediately.

Am I responsible for renewal fees?

Yes. Once the domain is transferred to your account, you are responsible for paying the standard annual renewal fees charged by your chosen registrar.
